Real Ales & Beers

We have a great selection of regular beers and ales alongside a number of guest ales that we change regularly.

Sharp Edge

"Specially brewed for the Horse and Farrier"

Reflecting one of the most challenging ridges in the Lake District.

Blencathera overlooks the Horse & Farrier and the pub can be seen from Sharp Edge – but if you prefer to enjoy the experience in a glass with feet firmly on the ground then have a pint at the bar – it's "a cut above the rest".

Of course our beer range changes from time to time as we take advantage of interesting beers offered by our suppliers but we hope this page gives you a clear sense of the wide range and varieties we stock you can always expect to see this broad range albeit specific beers may change.

Likewise our prices are correct at the time of going to press but our suppliers do raise prices from time to time and Government duty rises as well. Sadly this usually results in our having to raise our prices across the bar.

You should always refer to our price list which is displayed on the bar which will show the correct price before you place your order as it may take time to reflect a price rise or a product change on the web site.

Our Sister Inn

The Horse & Farrier

Just 50 yards up the road is our sister Inn, the Horse & Farrier. A 17th Century coaching Inn, offering good beer, warm beds and a warm Cumbrian welcome.
